Frequently asked questions.
Where are you located?
The majority of our initial assessments are conducted at:
ENT SA, 30 Flinders St, KENT TOWN, SA 5067
Our follow ups are conducted at our second clinic
17 Glen Osmond Road, EASTWOOD, SA 5063 (parking via Moar St)
How long are initial assessments?
All inital assessments are 90 minutes and are mostly conducted on a Friday afternoon at ENT SA.
Why do you need a GP referral for initial assessments?
Your GP will know if your symptoms require a medical assessment by a specialist, or tinnitus / sound sensitivity management. We also write back to them with an update as part of our collaborative approach. When referred by a GP / ENT you may also be eligible for some money back on Medicare.
Do you provide Hearing Devices?
Yes, we provide hearing aid fittings. However, our primary focus is the assessment and management of tinnitus and sound sensitivity (hyperacusis). Hearing devices are only recommended when clinically appropriate, as part of a personalised plan to support your well-being; whether that’s for tinnitus or sound sensitivity management, or for improving communication.
As an independent hearing healthcare clinic, we are not sales-driven; there are no KPIs or sales targets. Our recommendations are based solely on your clinical needs. If you already wear hearing aids, we can review and optimise them, including adding tinnitus or sound therapy programs where suitable and supported by the device software.
Please note that some hearing devices supplied by large retail chains may be locked, which can limit our ability to make adjustments. Every device is different, and not all are capable of adding tinnitus management. This will be discussed with you during your appointment.
Are your services covered by Medicare, private health insurance, Hearing Services Program or DVA Gold / White Card?
Medicare: up to $100 is rebated for the hearing assessment portion of the appointment if you have a GP / ENT referral
Private Health: Audiology consultations can be covered by health insurance, but it depends on the type of health insurance and the level of coverage. Find your health fund via this link to see what you are eligible for under ‘Audiology Consult’
PRIVATE HEALTH FUND REBATE FOR AUDIOLOGY CONSULT
Hearing Services Program: No, we are on the Hearing Services Program (HSP). We are a specialist clinic, and our focus is on personalised tinnitus, hyperacusis, and hearing care without the heavy administrative requirements of HSP.
Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA): Yes, for White Card (listed conditions of Hearing Loss and Tinnitus) and Gold Card recipients (hearing loss). While we don’t do services under the Hearing Services Program (HSP), we do work with DVA White and Gold Card patients where there is a clinical need and you have prior approval from DVA before the appointment. All DVA hearing devices or tinnitus treatments must be approved by DVA before we proceed, and in some cases, you may need to pay for the initial assessment and then claim it back through DVA (check with your advocate first).
For more details on DVA eligibility and how claims work, see the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Hearing Services page here:

Do you offer telehealth or video consultations?
Yes. We offer telehealth for ongoing patients, including follow-up appointments and remote hearing aid adjustments. However, all initial assessments and hearing aid fittings must be completed in clinic to ensure the highest standard of care and best practice.
